APPLY / TOUR
Filled With Happy Children & Families
The admissions process is about building a relationship — giving your family an opportunity to get to know the school and community deeply; and giving us a chance to get to know your whole family. Our goal is to assist you in the exciting and sometimes daunting task of choosing an educational community that is the best fit for both you and your child.
Step One: Complete an Interest Form
Your first step is to complete our easy ”Interest Form”. Once the form is complete, we’ll immediately email you our tuition information as well as a link to our preschool application. A separate email will be sent inviting you to join us on a tour.
If you have any questions at all about the admissions process or about the programs offered, please reach out. We look forward to getting to know you and your child in the months ahead, and hopefully welcoming you into the wonderful Ross Preschool family.
General Information:
The Ross Preschool is open to all children on a non-discriminatory basis. Regardless of where you call home (e.g. Ross, San Anselmo, Kentfield, Larkspur, Fairfax, etc.), all families are welcome. Residency in the Town of Ross is not required.
Our classrooms are located in the light-filled learning wing of the St. John’s Church building, directly across the street from Ross School. However, aside from being our friendly landlord, the church is not affiliated with us, and our curriculum is nonsectarian and multicultural.
Age Requirements:
Children entering preschool in September typically are 3-years old. Children who are younger usually wait until January or until the following school-year to enter the preschool, but we make some exceptions for children who demonstrate readiness to join our program so long as they are at least 2-years, 9-months old by their first day of school. All children must be potty-trained.
Apply Early / Early Admission:
To allow you to “check” this important responsibility off the list, we strongly recommend that families apply as early as possible. Some families are certain that The Ross Preschool is the right school for their child and family, and we offer the option to request an “early admission” decision on our application form. (important note: in order to be considered for priority admission, parents of siblings are urged to complete an application within the first three months after birth)
Enrollment:
Once an application has been received, we carefully review it for admission. We invest a great deal of time and focus on trying to make our classrooms both as balanced and as diverse as possible. We consider the class makeup and try to balance the class with students of different genders, age ranges, and abilities and interests; as well as diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic diversity and family structures.
Application Process:

If a student leaves my classroom with new skills I’ve done my job. If a child leaves my classroom knowing they are loved and accepted for who they are, I’ve reached my goal.
