Our music program is led by Dani Levy, who graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Music from State University of New York at New Paltz and is pursuing an Early Childhood Education degree at College of Marin. Miss Dani has the children singing, moving and dancing, playing different percussion instruments, improvising, rhyming, and even writing new verses to songs. She sneaks in concepts such as music notation, rhythms and patterns, tempo and keeping steady beats, and concepts like loud and quiet, fast and slow, and high and low.
Our students stretch and move with Miss Holly, who is not only one of our beloved teachers but also a children's yoga instructor in Marin County. Holly's yoga classes focus on meditation, storytelling, games, music and fundamental yoga while enhancing mental, physical, and emotional health.
Each spring, we look forward to planting in our wooden planter boxes and enjoying the fruits of our labor, bringing the process full circle by cooking and eating what we have grown. Our gardening program is led by Miss Kerstin, who holds a Master Gardening certificate.
Parent volunteers lead monthly cooking and food exploration activities in the classrooms. Past projects have included making apple turkeys and decorating gingerbread men.
Our art program is fully integrated into the classrooms and often incorporates science, math, and even engineering concepts. Our art program is led by Miss Deborah, who holds an Art Education degree and K-5 Art Education credential.
Many of our students take advantage of Ross Recreation's after-school class offerings, such as Science and Exploration with the Bay Area Discovery Museum and sports offerings for preschool-aged children.
